Slip N Slide

Today we went over to my sisters house and all the kids were outside swimming and going down the slip n slide. We put alyssa on the slide and she wasn't to sure of it at first but we pushed and pulled her down the slide and she started to like it then we put her on her tummy and pushed her down and she got going pretty fast. She liked it for awhile then not so much after a few times. It was quite entertaining though.

Grandma and Grandpa visit

Lance's parents came up to visit. It was there first time coming up and seeing where we live. We had a good time with them here. Thursday night when they got here we went to dinner at The Mandarin and it was delicious! On friday we just hung out at the house since lance had to work and Alyssa took a really long nap. Saturday we got up and we had a little Pancake Party and Parade for our ward so we went to that. We then just hit a couple of stores, we even bought a fan for our guest room so now if you come and stay you won't melt. Still working on covering our weird shaped window for the heat and street light at night though. Then we decided to go to a movie and we saw The Last Airbender. Alyssa was good for the first half of the movie then she got a little wiggly and didn't want to hold still so i left with her while the rest of them finished the show. We intended to go swimming at the rec center but just our luck they had just barely closed for a private party that was coming in. Sunday we went to church then in the afternoon we drove down and walked around the SLC temple and visitors center. Such a beautiful place. We got to play games at night which we don't do very often since it is just the two of us. We even got Jim to play Settler's for the first time and he even liked it.

Liberty Park

On my day off I took Alyssa to Liberty Park with a neighbor and her little boy. They had fun playing on the toys, going down the slides, and swinging. We took them over to ride a few rides like the carousel and some little helicopters. Alyssa didn't know what to think she didn't get excited or even smile she was just like what the heck is going on. We then went over to the Tracy Aviary to see all the birds and we watched the bird show which was pretty cool. I think that is what kept Alyssa's interest the most since they were so close. We took a little picnic with us and ate under the trees and we were going to let them play on the splash pad but there were to many big kids so we decided we had been outside long enough and headed home.

4th of July

On Saturday for the 4th of July we went to lunch and Alyssa got to have her first ice cream cone it was hilarious to watch her eat it but she loved every lick! Afterwards we were invited up to Ogden with some friends to the derby and to see some fireworks. I had never been to a demolition derby so it was kinda fun to watch but it was hot and alyssa lost interest fast. We got the fair food and just enjoyed being together. After the derby we watched the fireworks then headed home.

Drive-In Movie

We thought it would be fun to go to a drive in movie as a family. We went to see Grown ups and the 2nd feature was the Karate Kid which we didn't end up staying for since we had a little girl who was way tired but wouldn't fall asleep. She was delirious! Needless to say we were ready to go after the first movie but it was fun to try.

June's a Bloomin' Family Reunion

In June we had a family reunion in Warm Springs, Nevada for lance's family. We headed down on thursday and to make things a little cheaper we packed our own little picnic and stopped in Fillmore and ate our dinner in the middle of Carls Jr. parking lot. Alyssa loves her little chair she gets to sit in. We stayed with Sarah and Camron and then headed down to the reunion Friday morning. Most people camped thursday and friday night but we decided it was to much to pack for such a long distance for only one night so we just went down for the day to swim and hang out. It was my first time meeting most of Lance's relatives since most live in Colorado or further away. We had lots of fun with all the family and it was good to meet them and put faces with names. Alyssa loved the pool since it was like bath water and loved all the attention she got from everyone. She loved having tons of kids to play with to. It was really hot but we still enjoyed swimming, mingling and all the good food we had. They had a talent show at the end of the day and it was great to see all that participated (which didn't include Lance or I since we aren't very talented!) Saturday we just hung out in St. George and caught up on some sleep since we got back so late on Friday. The girls (Sarah, Gracie, Alyssa and I) went shopping and the boys Lance and Camron went to a movie. Sunday Gracie was blessed by her dad Camron so we went to there Sacrament meeting then had a lunch at the park. It was great food and good to see a few people still around from the reunion before we headed back home. It is always a long ride home when you are tired and just want to be there. We had a great busy weekend.

Alyssa was exhausted after swimming and luckily I got her to take a little nap, here she is snoozing in a tent on everyone's sleeping bags for some cushion.

Alyssa was such a big girl helping feed little Gracie. She loved to feed her and give her her binkie when she was crying. She knew what she wanted just what Alyssa wants when she is cranky!
